We all need a little help from time to time.

We don’t have to go it alone

Life is always changing. Sometimes we are up and things are smooth sailing. Other times life throws us a curve ball and we need help processing things like loss, anxiety, grief, life transitions, heartache, and trauma. Going it alone is possible, but whew, it’s not easy.

We can get stuck

I am a mental health professional and have “just sucked it up” several times in my life. When I slogged it out on my own there were bouts of prolonged frustration, sadness, loss and confusion. When I did finally “get it together already” and saw a therapist, I felt clearer, more like myself, and had a sense of hope that it would get better and it usually did.

Getting unstuck

Having just an hour a week to talk through these important struggles in our life helps us get clear on what is important, gives us tools to shift things for the better and buffers us from those everyday stressors that inevitably come up.

Individual Counseling

Therapy is a team effort where the therapist and client work together to bring about change. We'll dig into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to find solutions and gain insights that can ease emotional distress, anxiety, depression, and more. Usually, we'll meet once a week for about 50-55 minutes. Oh, and just so you know, all sessions happen through a secure Telehealth platform for now.

Couples Counseling

I have been trained in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy. The goals of this therapy are to disarm conflicting communication, increase intimacy, respect, and affection, remove barriers that create a feeling of “getting stuck” in conflicting situations, and creating a heightened sense of empathy and understanding. I often explore shared expectations, healthy communication methods and conflict resolution with couples. These sessions last 50-55 minutes and are attended by both partners. (All sessions are conducted via a secure Telehealth platform currently.)

Professional Coaching

I have personally witnessed the transformative power of simple coaching techniques and tools in assisting individuals to gain clarity and regain momentum with their projects and ideas. By collaborating with you, I will provide guidance and support as we explore and articulate your goals, ultimately paving the way for the creation of effective plans to achieve them.

Consultation & Project Management

I have managed multi-year grants for the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley and the Lurie Children’s Foundation. I am proud to be currently working on the NASW IL Task Force on Racial Justice. I enjoy collaborating with teams to help them become more thoughtful and efficient. I am experienced in curriculum development, project management, evaluation and producing ongoing reporting. I love seeing the big picture and working to get there over time.

LCSW Supervision & Consultation

Throughout my career, I have been lucky to supervise therapists in various settings. From community non-profits to private practice, I have guided and mentored many clinicians as they worked hard to get the hours they needed to become licensed. I truly believe that this process is not just a box to check off, but a journey that changes and shapes therapists into experienced professionals. With a strong commitment to supportive and thoughtful supervision, I am dedicated to helping you navigate this path with confidence.
